Have you ever wanted to own something that was totally unique that no one else in the world could own another exact copy of? Then perhaps you would like to consider crackle glass. Due to the process of their creation it is completely and totally impossible for two of them to ever be exactly the same. Even the process of creating crackle glass is unique. In fact, explaining how your crackle glass table top was created can make for interesting dinner conversation when you have guests over. Crackle glass comes into the world with a bang. It starts out as not one piece of glass, but three. The three pieces of glass are first stacked side by side. Then we laminate them so that the three pieces of glass essentially become one. Finally we use a punch to tap on only the middle piece of glass. While the two outer pieces stay intact, the middle piece literally explodes and shatters. Because the middle piece is firmly held in place by the two outer pieces of glass the outer surface is smooth and yet the middle later is completely shattered into thousands of small and unique pieces (as in the example above). The whole process is a bit like creating a work of art. No two pieces ever being the same. Because three pieces of glass are actually involved in the process and laminated together the result is a beautiful and very strong piece of glass.
